Jerusalem, 18 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — As part of an official visit to Israel by the President of Somaliland and senior energy and Water sector officials, the Water Authority presented the Israeli model for advanced water sector management and hosted a professional delegation of Water engineers and experts for training, knowledge exchange, and examination of future collaborations.
During a meeting with the delegation, the basic principles on which the Israeli water sector is based were presented – long-term planning, professional regulation, responsible management of water resources, ongoing investment in infrastructure, technological innovation, and the ability to successfully cope with climate challenges, population growth, and the changing challenges of modern times.
In parallel with the senior officials’ visit, the Water Authority hosted a professional delegation of 25 water engineers and experts from Somaliland, who are participating in a series of meetings and lectures with the Authority’s experts in a variety of key areas in the water sector.
