Jerusalem, 16 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Haifa District Planning and Building Committee decided to make substantial changes to the Nesher urban renewal plan and republish it for objections.

The urban renewal Plan for the “Ma’ale Giborim” complex in Nesher covers an area of approximately 25 acres (0.1 square km) for the construction of approximately 1,860 residential units and approximately 130 special Housing Units. The plan proposes the construction of 12 high-rise residential buildings combined with low-rise structural construction, surrounding a central open public space of approximately 13 dunams, as well as areas for public, commercial and employment buildings

The changes came after several objections were made to it, the main one being from the Israel Land Authority (ILA), following which a significant decision was made by the Haifa District Planning and Building Committee to make substantial changes to the plan.

These changes, said the Committe, will ensure the implementation of the plan – both for the benefit of the residents currently living in the complex and ensuring the protection of their homes, and for the benefit of the public purchasing the new apartments that will be built in the complex.
