Jerusalem, 18 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Transportation on Thursday published for public comment a proposal to postpone the planned update of public transportation fares, effectively freezing prices until the end of 2026, in accordance with an agreement between Transportation Minister Miri Regev and the Ministry of Finance.
The decision cancels a planned July 1 fare increase and halts the index-linked mechanism tied to the Consumer Price Index.
