Jerusalem, 23 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Noam Shapira has been appointed director of Israel’s National Information Headquarters.
Shapira (44) is married and has five children. He lives on Kibbutz Meirav. Lt. Col. (Res.) Shapira, a graduate of the IDF’s (Israel Defense Forces) elite “Sayeret Matkal” reconnaissance unit, and has held various management and command positions.
In recent years, he has been intensively involved in strengthening information and awareness in various arenas, leading a variety of efforts under the Operations Division for international information, harnessing strategic partnerships for Israel, and establishing the IDF’s freedom of action in the war in Gaza.
