The State Attorney’s Office filed an indictment in the Rishon LeZion Magistrate’s Court against Ability Computer & Software Industries and two company officers, the Defense Ministry said, following a joint probe by ministry security officials, police unit Lahav 433, and Israel Tax Authority customs investigators in Jerusalem.
The defendants face aggravated smuggling charges tied to violations of Israel’s Defense export oversight law, along with unlicensed defense marketing. The smuggling offenses involve roughly 35 million shekels ($9.9 million). One officer also faces a tax charge, while the company faces a money laundering charge under Israel’s anti-money laundering law.
The indictment’s contents and case details remain under a gag order, the ministry said, aside from what was disclosed in its statement.
